I supported Energy Cities throughout the development of Grafting Cities: Cultivating our Common Future, its 2023 annual conference in Modena, Italy. My involvement extended across the conference-development process rather than being limited to facilitation on the day. I contributed to the overall concept, co-created the agenda with the Energy Cities team, designed participatory formats and sessions, supported the communications approach and facilitated parts of the event itself. Particular attention was given to creating opportunities for meaningful exchange and collective reflection among participants, moving beyond traditional conference formats. Working across the different stages of the process helped ensure that the concept, programme, facilitation methodology and communications reinforced a coherent overall experience for the Energy Cities community.
